Me: Yes!
Hubby: Well what does a baby become?
Me: A child.
Hubby: So you're ready for a child and not just a baby.
Me: Yes
Hubby: O.k. I wanted to make sure that you just didn't want the baby but you wanted the whole package.
Yes, I'm totally ready to embark on this journey of motherhood. I love all the phases of a child's life...well except adolescents of course ;) My job is pretty cool because I get to help out in other departments when needed. My supervisor is holding a family workshop for parents and teens and she wanted to know if I would be willing to "babysit" an 18 month old for a couple hours. I was ecstatic and I quickly told her yes. So Tuesday, I spent my night running around with an 18 month old baby playing with balls, blocks and reading stories. And I felt a love for this child simply because she was a child. And I knew at that moment, and before then, that I'm ready to be a mother.
My husband and I decided to babysit my then 3 month old niece and that's when I really saw the fatherly traits in him. It made me fall deeper in love with him. He made up songs to sing to her that had her name in it (for the privacy of my sister, I won't name her child's name) and he played with her. I have an awesome picture of when they fell asleep together. I thought to myself, if my husband can love my niece this much, I can only imagine the love he will have for his own children. I look forward to looking into his eyes after delivering our 6 children and each time saying, "WE DID IT!...with God's help of-course".
In January, I told the hubby I wanted to be pregnant by the end of the year. I don't know how serious I was at the time but he nonchalantly agreed. Well two more months until the year is over with...
He picked her up after she was crying... |
He worked his magic and she quickly stopped crying... |
Cutest picture ever...she woke up during the night and he wanted to feed her...after burping her he laid her down and they both fell asleep |
I think he was probably happy that we were getting ready to take her back home lol...she was so content in her Uncle Chris arms |
