Week 14...2nd Trimester!!!

Baby size: 3.42 inches
Baby weight: 43 grams
Fruit equivalent: Lemon
What’s growing this month:

·         Lanugo(fine hair) is starting to appear over the body

·         Baby can now squint, frown, and grimace

·         Baby’s liver starts to make bile this week (meconium)

·         Baby is starting to develop the ability to move his eyes, although eyes are fused shut until after 27 weeks

How far along: 14 weeks, 6 days
Total weight gain: 2 lbs
Maternity clothes: I’m still wearing my regular clothes
Stretch marks: The usual
Sleep: Pretty good; I haven’t had any really good dreams lately like I did last week
Worst Best moment of this week: Well my eyes continued to be swollen from last week and they became worst. The doc put me on antibiotics which helped with my eyes but brought along other symptoms that I was not ready for: diarrhea and a yeast infection. I think I reached my lowest point on Sunday evening…I was so done with having diarrhea and I was so sad.
Miss anything: My appetite
Movement:  I can’t wait to feel my baby’s flutters
Food cravings: Nothing unusual
Anything making you queasy or sick: I ate two hotdogs today and my tummy hurt really badly afterwards. I’m thinking it was just too rough on my tummy since I just had diarrhea a few days ago.
Have you started to show yet: Not noticeably. I can only tell sometimes that I have a little bump and it’s more noticeable in the evening time than in the morning.
Gender: This week I think I’m having a boy. I think my son has been mad at me for calling him Sweet Pea and that’s why he’s been so “mean” to mommy…hubby is still convinced we are having a girl
Labor signs: No
Belly button in or out: In
Wedding rings on or off: On
Happy or moody most of the time: I think my emotions have started to mellow out. I’m not having the emotional attacks like I was a few weeks ago, I’m feeling pretty much like my usual self.
Looking forward to: Being off this antibiotic tomorrow. Praises be to God!....I'm totally looking for the good times to unfold in this second trimester. I'm looking forward to having a noticeable baby bump and having my energy and appetite return...woo hoo
Anything else:  We went to a docs apt this week and the baby’s heartbeat was 159. So it started off at 181 at 8 weeks, dropped to 162 at 12 weeks, and was 159 at 14 weeks…am I having a little boy???? Oh God, I hope so!
